On Day 1, we will explore the Goishi Coast area on foot. This area is a testament to the massive orogenic activity that birthed the gold of Michinoku and is a key spot on the “Michinoku Coastal Trail.” On Day 2, we will use the Sanriku Railway Rias Line (affectionately known as “Santetsu”) to visit the Mt. Imade gold mine and the Ōhora Shell Mound, a significant site in Japanese archaeology, before enjoying local food around Sakari Station.
