Using panels and videos, this museum provides an easy-to-understand introduction to the charm of the cultural heritage of Hiraizumi, including properties registered as Japan Heritage sites and World Heritage Sites. You can learn more about the history of Hiraizumi by visiting here before you visit to the historic sites themselves. The museum is located at the foot of Mount Kinkei, which stands at the center of the Hiraizumi region. From there, it is a 10-minute walk to the famous Chuson-ji and Motsu-ji temples.
