Long ago, there were many salterns producing high-quality salt in the area around Iwaisaki. The local region was a major salt production area. At the Salt Making Experience Center, you can get in touch with that salt-making tradition by making your own mineral-rich natural salt from seawater. You can take home the salt you make as a memento and for use in cooking. The Center also sells original products, such as soda made using salt.
