A botanical garden dedicated to the camellia, the official flower of Ofunato City. It exhibits approximately 600 species of camellias from around the world. While the blooming season lasts from October to late April, a visit between January and March is highly recommended to see the flowers in full bloom. In addition to the exhibits, camellias and other flowering trees are available for purchase. The “Sanriku Ofunato Tsubaki (Camellia) Festival” is held annually during the peak blooming season.
