Umi no Ichi is popular with locals and tourists alike. It is located next door to the Kesennuma Fish Market. The Kesennuma Fish Market is one of Japan’s largest, and is equipped with a 354-meter long observation deck from which visitors can watch the action taking place below. Umi no Ichi is a place where all the charms of a port town are gathered together in one place. You can enjoy all of Kesennuma’s most popular local products here, from restaurants offering fresh seafood, to souvenir shops selling seafood and merchandise unique to Kesennuma. There are also two museums in the building: the Ice Aquarium and the Shark Museum.
