The Ayukawa Community Development Association manages the building complex housing the Cottu Tourism and Products Exchange Facility (8:30–17:00), the Oshika Peninsula Visitors Center (9:00–16:30), and Oshika Whale Land (9:00–16:00). Oshika Whale Land in particular, is a facility where you can learn about the whaling history in Ayukawa Port, one of Japan’s former major whaling grounds. In addition to introducing visitors to the whale culture unique to the Oshika Peninsula, they also present the distinctive features of whales, their way of life, as well as their natural environment.
